Nono, We're not gonna cheese the fight this time. We're gonna take the boss on full force! So, prepare yourself for the first trial boss in the game. And let's get this show on the road!

I recommend you have at least 1 5* able unit, and all of your 4* units at level 40 or higher. I also recommend you grab the following colosseum items if you haven't already.

    • Mage's Habit: DEF +20, MAG +10, SPR +10 [BGN C-2 Award]
    • Mythril Buckler: DEF +30 [BGN B-3 Award]
    • Ogrekiller: ATK+ 36 [BGN B-4 Award]
    • Biora: Dark Magic Spell + Chance to Poison [BGN A-3 Award]

If you have any of these items, you should be fine. Be sure to put the Mage's Habit on your best mage, and the Buckler on your healer. Ogrekiller is a good axe weapon for many units to use. & Biora has a chance to poison which makes White Dragon that much easier now on to the boss himself!

To beat White Dragon is not super hard, but can be challenging for starters he has a assortment of elemental attacks to use against you so be careful what Espers you put on your units as it may be able to hit your character for weakness (CoD ignores this though.) He's immune to any kind of Stone status so don't bother doing that. He also has thresholds at 70%, and 30% on these turns he will do Malestrom which knocks two of your units to 1 HP so be careful there and heal up. WD himself has no buffs he applies to himself, he only attacks with Snowstorm, Scorch, Lightning, Earthquake. It's usually one of the following orders (2 AoE, 1 normal attack), (1 ST, 1 AoE, 1 Regular Attack), when Malestrom comes it's (2 Malestrom, 1 Regular Attack)

The easiest way to beat White Dragon is to use a mage that has Bio, or Biora on their skillset. If you poison it then he loses 5300 HP per turn that he's poisoned this makes it x10 easier to beat him cause if RNGesus smiles on you he can be poisoned for 3-4 turns and that's already 3/10, 4/10 of his HP gone. I also recommend Vivi the most for this since he can dualcast, and has Biora in his abilities by levelup. Krile if you got Biora from colosseum also makes for this spot as well as she can also heal the party when needed.

Another way to beat WD is by breaking down it's defenses. If you have any users that has the ability Armor Break and is 4* or higher I would take them so units can ware down the dragon faster. If you got Bartz/CoD in your party and he has Barrage this fight becomes super easy with reduced defenses, and Bartz just hammering away it's HP. Truthfully, WD is not hard. You can win with most 4* party setups in the game atm. Just make sure to grab some useful weapons, and armor before you fight him.

Final Award: Murasame (61 ATK Katana)

Biora from the Colosseum is nice, but afaik it's not craftable unless we can get megacryst somewhere? I was hoping the lands of plenty would have them drop, but we all saw what happened with that :b

Sadly it's not. But, tons of black mages usually have them in their skillset so it's not as bad.

edgars a good choice too with bioblaster having 50% chance. Also magitech terra will come with bioblaster when the game launches so thats another good source if people put it off.

Just want to point out that Biora isn't currently craftable as it requires a Dark Megacryst. For now, you'll have to rely on characters who learn it naturally or on Bio/BioBlaster.

    Great guide other than that!

Bedile is another character that gets access to poison, via the ability Bio Blade.

He also has Deshell and Deprotect, which can help a bit as well in the fight against WD.

Good units to have: Biggs/Edgar (Bio Blasters 50% proc rate for poison); Rizer/Shadow/Miyuki/Cyan (Paralyzing blades)
    Nice write up!

Inside each town there is a pillar that will transport you to another dimension filled with moogles, northwest corner has the sword on a pedestal and once you interact with it, the fight starts.

Dark Megacryst dropped off a cache in Phantom Forest Exploration.
