With the release of Lilith and Lucius, I see a number of comments about Arena struggles, particularly in teams with known arena trolls like Ayaka and A Rain.

Here’s a couple of tips that will help you survive even the trolliest of encounters if you put a little thought into the survivability of your own team. And please feel free to post your arena tips below.

    1. Bring an aoe full break skill - even 45% like enhanced SBDF and DV have can go a long way in survivng turn 1 relatively unscathed. SBDF also doesn’t include an atk so won’t trigger counters.

    2. Selectively target units on the first turn while (if practical in your comp) buffing your team. That way you can avoid a full onslaught of aoe counter chains.

Yeah pretty simple. If this were a trial fight, these would be a no brainer. But to an extent, arena has become like mini trial fights b/c of 7* and trollier units. If you want a nice long win streak, approach it that way.

    3. Gear all units with 18k HP or higher, and then focus on ATK/MAG (you never need more than 1.5k way less with killers)
    4. Use abilities that chain (AR chain) and land multicast (quadcast is nice) finisher abilities in that chain
    5. Use stop and death. (Odin esper and/or several units have AoE abilites or LB's that do that)
    6. Use (T)DH for 100% accuracy
    7. Use (physical) abilities that have ignore DEF, those wont get covered and chains dont break
    8. use 4x Esther dualcasting BS and kill everything
    9. Add bonus unit with Odin esper or Frozen Hurricane
    10. Add abilites that are backloaded/hit twice or more example Dual Slash or A. Onion Knights True Onion Chop

    There i spoiled it ::down::

edit: forgot. 11. Use gut gear, or negate 1 attack gear to minimize damage if "they" get first round

That's what I do when the daily mission includes "win one time in the arena". My arena team is 3x Trance Terra + Magitek Terra ;)

    Here's my tips :
    1. have all units at high HP ( 12K HP is enough) while your healer ( preferably Ayaka or Aerith) should have more than 16K or higher HP.
    2. make 3 DPS, all elementless and can multicast with the same family ( I use non elemental BS chain with no added effect to prevent banning because it's short and chaining is very easy)
    3. all units must be immune to blind and disabling ailments. Healer should be immune to death as well.
    4. have your bonus unit with Odin.
    That's it!

What? breaks barely have any impact on arena. Untis will still deal 999 regardless of breaks, since they only affect the base stat (wich is ~300 fully potted).
-200 ATK/MAG will do nothing to the damage on arena when the unit have over 1500 ATK/MAG

It is very simple to win in the arena: 3/4 multi-cast chainers, one unit with odin (the bonus), and maybe a stop recovery unit instead of the 4thif you're afraid of enemy going first and stoping your team.
Chain and kill them turn 1, if there are some leftovers, use odin. If there is a an auto cover unit, only one unit on the other side will survive, and this unit will NOT counter anyways.

    Most important setups:

    1. Have a healer who can take care of stop (and who is naturally resistant to it)
    2. Have at least two chainers who can hit max chain quickly/efficiently; matching elements is a plus
    3. Have a finisher who ideally can hit multiple times within the long-chain (who can hit immediately and doesn't have a lag time)
    4. Have a tank who can absorb either physical or magical and who has lots of HP (this unit is optional but a plus if you can slot in)
    5. Having Odin or a unit who can instant KO the whole enemy team is almost necessary these days (on your bonus unit is best)

    Additional setup notes:
    1. Having units who can counter is very helpful (Lucius, Lilith, Lucas, etc.), especially chaining counters that chain together
    2. Having a unit who can dispel the enemy team is helpful (for units who automatically reraise themselves through LBs)
    3. Being able to hit EITHER physical OR magical is almost necessary to counter Lucius/Lilith/Lucas teams, so you can choose which counter you will get instead of getting all of the counters (which will wipe you)
    4. Finally, remember you don't need to aim for max ATK/MAG, you only need enough ATK/MAG for a normal ability when used on a high DEF/SPR unit to hit 999; once you have hit that sweet spot, just boost HP and survivability stats (but mostly HP)
    5. Make sure all units have SPCS ailment immunity (sleep, paralyze, confuse, stone), or at the very least all have confuse resist and one unit with SPCS immunity who can heal all of the other ailments easily

Charm can be a lifesaver when stop and death fail.
Use Jade if you have her, she can charm while chaining BS and counter with death if you have DQ Demon spear equiped.
