Might be interesting in case any of these are news to anyone. Just some random stuff I observed in the Arena.

A TDW unit with the 6x damage cap summoning an esper will do up to 6k damage. EDIT: capping a chain with the Esper.

Esper Orbs get "allocated" as they drop, if the total is 10+ (gauge and orbs abound), you can summon an esper even though visually he's greyed out until the orbs actually "move" into the gauge.

LB crysts are similar, they get allocated as they drop. If there are lots of LB crysts, you might be able to select greyed out LBs. You won't know for sure which character gets them until the crysts start moving, but they count (with all LB fill buffs) already when spawned.

Esper mechanics dont work with tdw cap. You are just interpreting the results of a chain cap using a strong esper.

As for the rest that is a visual bug, and impossible to validate during chains where the entire screen is a giant fireworks show.

You can however cast more than one esper if you deplete the meter fast enough. Although this has only one real world use with odin for death. Otherwise it will likely just do 999 2nd time around

Well at least in the Arena, there is no other explanation for dealing 5994 damage instead of the usual 3996 damage with an esper summon.

Why don't you try before stating as a fact it's not true? ;)
