    A young man who appears in the tales of holy stones known as auracite in the distant world of Ivalice. Delita served the widely respected House of Beoulve, into which he and his sister Tietra had been adopted following the death of their severely ill parents. Once taken in, he became fast friends with Ramza, a son of the head of the house, Barbaneth Beoulve. It was Delita's adoptive father who would push him and Ramza to join the exclusive Gariland Royal Military Akademy. The two friends gradually formed a bond which transcended the social gap that originally separated them.

    In-Depth Analysis:
    This will contain both pros and cons so I can freely talk about it.

    Delita has decent base stats. While none of his stats exceel in anything, they are overall pretty solid with a strong ATK base. This is pretty good because of his very high equipment selection. He can equip nearly all relevant weapons while also being able to equip all armors except for robes. So you can basically equip your Delita with what you want.
    While he has no specific weapon passives, he suffers a lot because of his very low ATK passives with only 20%! This is really low for our current standards.

    Last Stand increases your DEF and SPR for 20% once you drop below 30% as a buff. Which is supposed to be good but it really isn't. It's overshadowed by basically every AoE buff in the game and it's just bad. Even if it was a permanent buff and not restricted to the 30% HP drop, it's just not useful imo. Pretty bad ability.

    Counter Tackle is a regular counter, which is always fine. A little more side damage and primarly collecting LB Crysts, fine enough.

    ATK + 20%, we've already talked about this before. While itself it's not a bad ability at all, it's just not enough anymore. For a decent DPS these days, you need at least 60% ATK passives usually (excluding Tidus right now). So again, a no-go with this ability, it's not enough anymore, which kinda refers to one of the next format.

    Ambition synergyzes well with the counters because you will have a total of 50% counter chances with this ability which will make your counters 50% stronger (the regular normal attack counters). But from what I've heard it will not make Barrage crit more often because Barrage is an ability and not a normal attack.

    MP Stroll please, I never consider these abilities any useful. I'm so happy that these kind of abilities don't appear anymore because it seems sooo wasted. 2 MP per step, that's useless in every active batte and only slightly useful in explorations. While Delita doesn't even have any MP issues.

    Where as the HP + 30% is still a lot. Delita has a good enough HP base to make this a really good ability and it's nice to see that on a supporter. Good ability. Fits very well into our current standards.

    Auto-Refresh is the same deal here. It's still one of the most common abilities amongst all 5* units and it's simply good. There are absolutely no downsides of it in terms of comparing it to any other unit and it does its job good.

    Store is a really bad ability and I do not recommend anyone using it. It simply increases the damage of your next normal attack by 80%, so you're wasting a turn to get an 80% modifier on your normal attack, why would you just not use two normal attacks instead?? And even then, you also get another downside of taking 50% increased damage. This is one of the worst abilities ever and has purely downsides, there is nothing good about this move.

    Enhanced Helm Break however is GL's currently highest SPR break in the game with 65%, even if you include Limit Bursts. It increases your magic damage by 184% if the target is vulnerable to SPR breaks. I will talk about this specific break in the upcomming sections.

    Medicate is one of these very outdated abilities again, while it cures poison, blind and silence, it's restricted to the caster and ST. So really bad, there are way better options to heal status ailment protections and also it's just not really worth it to cure poison or silence.

    Barrage, again, is a very outdated move and not recommended to use. It is Delita's highest modifier but it's split into four attacks, which makes it unusable in basically any scenario because Delita will not be used as a single attacking unit due to his breaks. His sole purpose is to break the enemy, buff your MAG etc. and fit into Nuke team comps. There is absolute no use for Barrage.

    Thundaga Blade, again v2 (sorry), was never useful. It has a very low hybrid mod and deals innate thunder damage. Other than that, it can't do anything basically. It's way too weak and Delita has absolute nothing in his kit which makes him either really strong as a thunder user or as a hybrid unit. So why did they implement this move?

    Enhanced Shield Break is the physical version of Helm Break, which breaks the enemy's DEF for 65%. This increases your physical damage by 184% which is really high. Delita is a really good unit for Raid's and Exploration Events because most of the times, these bosses are vulnerable to DEF breaks and a lot of people run physical damage dealers. So thumbs up this time.

    Northswain's Strike is an effective ~2.6x modifier as a one hit. It's really outdated but his highest damage dealing move considering you don't have the damage split up into 4 hits which means you can properly chain finish with it for some ok-ish damage. Not his best move at all, but it's not necessarily the worst.

    While enhanced Meditate is very important for Delita. It buffs your team's MAG/SPR for 65% and grants a pretty strong MP Regen to everybody. This synergyzes really well with his enhanced Helm break because Delita becomes a very valuable member for mage teamcompositions. He can break the enemy's SPR for 65% and can buff your MAG for 65% while also make your mages more sustainable regarding their MP and increases the survivability.

    Back Then?
    I don't know a lot about the past meta, but I will try to see everything I can.
    Back then, we had 3 different 6* max units which were Lightning, Ramza and Delita.

    While Lightning was really op back then, with her innate Dual Wield, huge elemental coverage, 30% ATK passives, chains etc. and Ramza having awesome buffs, strong ATK/MAG breaks, Cheer and Entrust, Delita didn't really shine.

    He had this serious problems to really exceel from what I've heard. While he had decent mods, as a barrage user he was heavily outclassed by Lightning. She did everything better in these regards than him. She also had a DEF break with her LB, a 20% Lightning Imperil, a good enough equipment selection, she basically outclassed him besides his Meditate, which wasn't really important because mages fell out of flavor with Lightning's arrival.

    And Ramza covered these aspects a lot better. There were enemies that couldn't be really DEF breaked (e.g. Two-headed Dragon), Ramza could make your team a lot more survivable. While Ramza's Holy Blade was a lot stronger than Delita's Thundaga Blade, he also had Ultima, which was a very powerful spell. And I've seen a lot of semi-mage Ramza's back in the day.

    So you can see, even back then, Delita wasn't really that good. He definitely was good, but not even the best among only 3 5* units, which is kind of sad.

    How did he fare?
    Delita
    didn't fare well at all. Before he got enhancements, everytime there was a new unit he fell of a bit.

    Everytime we got a new breaker or a new form of buffing or damage dealing, Delita became less appealing to fit into a team. He quickly became a less valuable DPS, he quickly fell of as a breaker because of units like Agrias and Warrior of Light fullbreaking which was a huge deal back then.

    And as we moved on, we got Elza, who outclassed Delita in basically everything. She had higher breaks, her breaks were combined into one turn, her barrage move was a lot stronger while she also had 70% (!) ATK passives. Elza was a huge gamebreaker for a short amount of time and definitely a force. From there on Delita hasn't seen any usage until enhancements and became a living meme amongst all pulls. So many disappointed people...

    Delita [​IMG] VS [​IMG] Elza

    - Delita has slightly higher ATK basestats but 50% lower ATK passives
    - Both don't have Dual Wield
    - Elza had way higher modifiers
    - Elza's Dark Aegis was 10% stronger
    - Elza had two 50% Killers
    - Elza had a combined DEF/SPR break that was also 10% stronger
    - Elza could boost her own ATK/DEF/MAG/SPR for 50%
    - Elza had a way to sustain herself with Lance
    - Elza has a 90% HP Auto-Revive

    Delita had absolutely no chance to compete with Elza in an overall performance. Everything he does is basically outclassed by Elza besides his Meditate. But with the lack of usage of mages back then, Meditate wasn't necessarily the most useful one. So Elza straight up wins because she not only has higher numbers, but she also has some over usage. Top DPS unit back then, even without Dual Wield.

    So how did he fare in the meta game? Bad. Not much to contribute with.

    How is he today?
    Without enhancements, Delita is absolute trash tier. He is not worth a unit slot at all and I'd never recommend using him.

    But with enhancements, he has an occasional usage. He fits very well into any mage team, he was one of the best units to bring in the latest trial Aigaion because Aigaion was only vulnerable to SPR breaks, dealt a lot of AoE Magic damage and was a very long fight that required MP management. In that trial, Delita had probably the best time to shine for like ever. The trial is really designed to use him.

    Delita can be made a valuable support unit easily. If you can equip Rikku's TMR and maybe even 9S' TMR on him, he becomes really good. Everybody can use Rikku TMR + 9S TMR effectively, but not everyone has his really good buff with Meditate, that also lasts 5 turns. While he also has the ability to break, which will most likely never happen.

    Because today's trials (except for Aigaion) are mostly invulnerable to DEF/SPR breaks and this will not change at all. There are a few exceptions, but generally DEF/SPR breaks become obsolete.

    So he definitely can be a good unit if you have the right gear. If you want to use him, enhance him and go for it.

    Delita will be good in any Trial (as long as bards do not exist) that require heavy MP management, that love to AoE attack with magic moves. And maybe even are weak against magic or can be SPR broken, e.g. Aigaion.

    As a conclusion I wouldn't say Delita is one of the best supports at all. But he really has some usages that others currently cannot provide in any way. And while he might be bad for future trials, he still is massive for any casual content, for any raid content and maybe even for some events because as long as the enemy can be inflicted with DEF or SPR breaks, he can open up huge OTKO potentials easily.

    That being said, Delita will always shine once we can break the DEF or SPR. He will always be able to make the most absurd OTKO's or even FTKO's (One turn K.O and First Turn K.O) possible which is remarkable. But it's niche, which makes him not a staple unit like Rikku.

    Enhancements:
    Since I already talked about his potential post enhancements, I will cover these abilities each on their own.

    Helm / Shield Break +2: All enhancements of Delita share the same costs and these are somewhat expensive. Manageable but can hurt quite a bit depending on the future enhancements you want to obtain. Overall, the SPR break goes up from 40% to 65%, which is a whopping damage increase from 66% to 185%. This is definitely worth it if you lack damage and you know about the flaws of DEF/SPR breaks. As it is, not including the break immunities, itself is a huge enhancement.

    Meditate +2: Definitely a good enhancement right of the bet. I am not including Delita's overall flaws with this, but generally the MP costs go down by 15, which is alot considering it costs 57 MP before enhancements, while also gaining 65% boosts to MAG/SPR and ALSO putting a 5 turn pretty strong MP Regen on your team. This can change the way of a fight especially with the current lack of good MP batteries. Definitely worthy an enhancement if you lack MP batteries and really want that extra survivability.

    Enhanced Delita [​IMG] VS [​IMG] Enhanced Elza

    - Elza has 100% higher ATK passives
    - Elza has combined 60% Breaks
    - Delita has seperated 65% Breaks
    - Elza's Ravaging Blow has a decent modifier
    - Elza's Madness Rush has an insane modifier
    - Delita becomes more of a support unit
    - Elza becomes more of a single DPS unit

    I will not give a win to either of them. Because they go into different directions, which is completely fine.
    While Elza supports hybrid teams / hybrid units a lot (e.g. Fryevia), her breaks are still lower than Delita's. While Elza deals massive damage, especially if you don't run any other DPS units because her madness rush has a huge modifier. No other ability can reach that high of damage per turn without chains, which makes her the best sole DPS unit (important for turtle team comps).
    While Delita becomes a pretty strong support unit which wants to equip Rikku TMR on him.
    So nobody wins.

    How will he fare?
    This is solely based on predictions I know from the JP version and I don't know if new trials (especially global exclusive ones) will include vulnerability to DEF/SPR breaks.

    I predict Delita to slowly drop off. As we advance further into the meta, MP regens and buffs will be provided in the long run. We soon will get Bards. We already have a pretty decent Bard with Lunera, which provides huge MP regens, strong HP regens and 40% stat buffs to everything.

    But looking at JP, there are three bards there which can clearly show you that Delita's buffs will become obsolete.

    Ramza: AoE +100%ATK/DEF/MAG/SPR while Singing (3 Turns) & AoE ~1150 HP Heal w/ 8x Mod while Singing split over 3 Turns & AoE ~20 MP Heal w/ 0.5x Mod while Singing split over 3 Turns

    Lunera: AoE +90%ATK/DEF/MAG/SPR while Singing (3 Turns) & AoE ~1350 HP Heal w/ 10x Mod while Singing split over 3 Turns & AoE ~30 MP Heal w/ 0.6x Mod while Singing split over 3 Turns

    Roy: (last song) [While Singing (2 Turns)]AoE +110% ATK/DEF/MAG/SPRAoE 2 Turn -45% ATK/DEF/MAG/SPR DebuffAoE ~800 HP Heal w/ 5.5x Mod split over 2 TurnsAoE ~20 MP Heal w/ 0.2x Mod split over 2 Turns

    As long as we don't have bards, Delita will still have a place in teams. Once we get our first bard, he will instantly drop off drastically and will most likely not be used anymore as long as you can't apply DEF/SPR breaks.
    And even if you need these breaks, there will be units who can still provide alternate versions. Warrior of Light provides 45% DEF/SPR breaks, Basch has either 45% breaks or 50% seperated breaks, CG Lid completely outshines Delita, but that's far away.

    So my prediction is that his lifespan will somewhat soon end. Not necessarily now or in the very near future, but sometime soon.

    I'm sad that Delita will fall off now that he had one trial to shine in. I like him (even though I never played Tactics) and wished he could provide something to make him last a bit longer. Oh well, can't change powercreep and metashifts. And...
    ... didn't Lunera receive a GL upgrade making her stat buffs 60% right from the get-go?

    Maybe you should made some stuff suggestion (maybe more an orientation of what AION on him to be effective)?
    I was aware for 9S+Rikku's TM. I'm working on that still a long time. But for the rest? we should AIM for HP/Def/Sp? with a shield?
    We shouldn't get anything good from a DW Delita, even is 9S tm chan change him in a sort of back up chainer.?.

    I do not have Delita neither i wish to, why? because you guys (the people of the forums) have banished him as the botton of the 5* rank, even below than nice 4* bases.

    So before coming here i came armed with picks and torches to bury Delita down.......But ok, lets read the review...

    After read:

    Still nothing to see here, old characters suffer of the most common disease, which is the low number of abilities, where each of them was fixed to do a thing, and that is Delita today, he can do a thing, support!

    His enhacements should have brought a couple more of skills instead of enhancing the few ones he had. i had a Friend with a delita, and i picked him, and when i was riding Delita, i scrolled the skill and i said "is this all" bno no I did not say " this is good, and this is bad" no i didn't say that, i repeat what i said is "is this ALL?" Saldy i had to unfriend that guy Seriously, not a fun character to play.

    And Gumi knowing this, Brought us a new Delita with cooler skills [​IMG] Like ("Gumi: fuck you guys, if you want a better Delita, whale for him!")

    So in the end, this is the review inside the review:
    May God Bless you and Avoid your soul of Possessing a "Delita" Character!

    Dw will help. If an enemy has a %immunity to breaks using dw will proc his break twice. Which is good for overcoming that chance to be ignored.
    And obviously with 9s tmr he so be able to help build a chain.

    Got Delita in my Anniversary Guaranteed 5*.

    Not super happy but at least its not a dupe.

    Moogled for Moonblade (as a rule, I moogle my 5* and limited units) for my Reberta. Very happy I pulled him when I found out his powers in the Ariagon Trial. (1st time I went in, it took half hour to hit the Left Arm by 10%! After that I brought Enhanced Delita and he helped kill the Robot under 5 hours.) And very excited that Meme decided to do this review...

    However, everything ended with an anti-climax when the review finishes by saying there is not much use for him in the future... ::cry::

    Anyway, thanks Meme for your great review again.

    Good point. I only have 1 DW (on my main DD right now) and i'll get that GenjiGlove really soon (we have Tmoogle in coming, he is at 80%) and i started another Djidane & Abel. BK should be a good candidate for Delita. Get a free DW and be able to use both Rikku&9S and all the materia's slot open for what we need.

    Building and using a unit for a hard content is not wasted i think. I know he'll not shine in other content (well, he can still be use for OTKO, i currently use him for fun with Engel) but, is Aigaion not worth it? Insane Fist + materia + 10% Moogle :) ? It's a bit expensive for that. I don't have all the awakening cryst i wish i could. I allready enhance his Def Break. Definitly will do for his Psy break and for his buff (really need that MP regen option) when he will reach lvl100)

    As K.Delita (just a little HS) i was looking for a non elemental sword (i know we don't have lightning one yet) and we only have Moonblade :( sadly my K.Delita is at is max power for me. Razmatazz + Apocalypse (coulbe be the Agria's TM for a bit more ATK or even A2's ... I have enough Moogle for her or for 2B xD) Can't wait better TMR for me. Going to farm Sozhe&Léon TM for my K.Delita.

    Heh, 65% DEF or SPR break on demand is still high in JP. He's gonna remain the best OTKO comp for non-hybrid units and for ST fights.
