    Jensen grew up in the city of Detroit located in another world, where money was always tight, and his family could have used a second income. Often, his family would take him on ‘an adventure’ they couldn’t afford. However, many of Jensen’s happiest memories stem from these trips, but all are tinged with uncertainty and guilt. He joined the police force when he was 21 and volunteered for SWAT 4 years later, rising to team commander relatively quickly. But his career ended when he refused to follow a questionable order.

    I'm really starting to like having one day off between reviews. This time around it was delayed, but usually that'd mean reviews on Thursday + Saturday for double banners. Would it bother you if I kept it that way?

    Pros:
    Adam Jensen
    statwise is more than solid. His basestats show a very high base ATK while his other stats are good. With a total of innate 100% ATK, 60% HP and 20% DEF this doesn't look too bad, but let's just wait for his TMR ability. Adam also has a 10% MP refresh as well as high HP regens, which makes him more self sufficient,
    He is resistant against poison, blind and disease. Not the best status ailment resistances, but they are still nice to have as you don't have to gear against them.

    When it comes down to Adam's TMR ability you might be surprised how much it actually adds to his ATK.
    His own TMR increases your ATK by 30% with guns, swords, fists and throwing weapons, thus 60% total if you equip two of these weapons. Since Adam has access to all these weapon types as well as innate Dualwield you can easily proc the 60% ATK. But there's more, it also increases his True Dualwield by 20%.
    That's only his TMR, if we take his TMR ability into account he gains another 20% ATK/DEF/SPR , 60% True Dualwield and a 2k HP barrier at the start of the battle. So, once you equip his TMR onto him he has a total of 150%/180% ATK as well as 80% True Dualwield (caps at 100%) with 60% HP, 40% DEF and 20% SPR.

    If the fight is becoming dangerous, Adam can make himself tankier through Stealth Enhancer as well as TITAN. The former negating the next three physical attacks, the latter granting a 3500 HP barrier. For threshholds you might find a use for either of these abilities if they have a lot of AoE damage that you can't handle.

    Simply putting on glasses doesn't make you smarte---
    Smart Vision is similar to Raegen's 40% fullbreak. Scanning + a ST 45% fullbreak on a damage dealer can be useful for events or even for trials if you either don't want to bring another breaker or your breaker is currently dead / busy. Even for a turn 1 simply having access to a 45% break can be lifesaving.
    Though Adam can also use a 3 turn ST 60% DEF break to setup your damage dealers or even himself if needed. That'd mean a ~149% damage increase.

    Viktor already showed us how great the trait of curing stop and charm when you can't even use any abilities. (That one was a joke, I got the impression some people didn't get it)
    Implanted Rebreather is the same story: It cures all negative effects that you can think of and makes you resistant against them. Well, except for Berserk.
    It's great if there's an incoming stop / charm or even huge breaks.

    Before looking at the damage abilities, Adam has a 3 turn self 100% machine killer, which can be used against... machines, duh.
    Generally having a killer buff can prove useful for OTKOs and burst strategies that require you to deal a lot of damage in one turn. At lvl 120 this has a 300% modifier.

    Adam has two ways of dealing damage similar to Viktor. He can either chain or be used as a finisher, though just like Viktor I feel like his finisher potential is a lot higher.

    Adam's two chaining moves consist of TESLA (hewo ewon musk) as well as an CD ability.
    TESLA is a 6-Hit ST 350% innate lighnting elemental chain with a 50% lightning imperil. This one goes up to 550% at lvl 120. Not as impressive as his CD move.
    Typhoon Explosive System, which is available at Turn 1 but has a 6 turn cooldown, is an AoE 12-Hit 1200% fire modifier with a .. ST 75% fire imperil? This move has the same frames as Tornado so you can even use it in Arena or 10 man trials if needed, though keep in mind it'll be on cooldown afterwards.

    About his finishers...
    Nanoblade, his regular finisher, is a stacking one. It starts off with a ST 300% modifier and goes up to a total 1400% (100% each). Once fully stacked up it has a lot of damage potential, though you might have trouble fully finishing this. Chainers like Nalu will likely not cap both instances with DW. At lvl 120 this will go up to a 1600% modifier.

    That was only the beginning.
    Adam has three additional finishers.

    His Limit Burst varies from a ST 1500% finisher up to 2080% one depending on its level. The added thunder imperil always stays at 3 turns and 100%, so even if it's not the strongest finisher option for a DW build, the thunder imperil might make up for it.

    Both of his CD abilities are a lot better though.
    Explosive Heat Blade as well as Remote Hacking are both available at turn 5 with a 5 turn cooldown, so you can't use them immediately.
    Explosive Heat Blade is a ST 1200% fire finisher with a 3 turn 100% fire imperil. This can be either used to set up your own incoming chaining move, your other chainers or even his second CD ability, which is not only granting Adam a self 1 turn 75% machine killer, but also has a 1700% modifier.


    Cons:
    Adam's
    cons make him a little ... weird.

    TESLA for a DW build is flawed. Dualwield chainers are often used if you want to buildup a really big chain to fit in finishers that either have multiple hits such as Olive's LB or DW finishers as e.g. Viktor.
    TESLA is probably one of the fastest and shortest chains out there.
    Or is it? Not really, because with DW it can't even perfect chain. It'll break right between casts, so his only perfect chaining move with DW is his CD ability. That makes him really weak at off turns where he has no access to it.

    This also somewhat counts for his finishing.
    While Nanoblade itself isn't weak, it might not perfectly fit into your chainers while it has to stack up. For average damage that's completely fine, but mostly finishers are going to be used for burst damage while Nanoblade also doesn't have any imperils. Though with DW chainers this shouldn't be a problem.

    Adam's LB imperils Lightning but has no innate elemental.
    His chaining moves have innate elemental and imperil.
    His finishers are partially non-elemental.
    How do you build him?
    I still ask myself just that because his fire weapon options are horrible while it seems like the best thing to go for as a finisher.
    Thunder would seem like a good option with Sparky, but TESLA can't perfect chain and his strong chaining move is innate fire elemental. Though you don't have any follow up chaining moves that can utilise his fire imperil from the chain.
    And then being a finisher it means you could always use a different weapon such as Brotherhood. Eh, help.

    And the biggest issue I have with his Limit Burst is that it requires 34 crysts. This is a lot and Adam has no innate LB fillrate passives nor Auto LB.
    It might have been more interesting to use if it was on a low LB cryst requirement because a 100% lightning imperil would mean really high potential with Sparky and his CD finisher, but that way I don't really like including it. 34 crysts is a lot without anything else.


    Side-Notes:
    Doesn't exist in JP.
    If Adam gets access to any good fire weapons I could see him being a really good finisher option for players who do not have access to TDH due to his high TDW, high ATK passives and strong CD moves.
    Generally though he will be outperformed in the future. His chaining capabilities are already limited. His turn 1 is really strong due to his 1200% chain with a 75% imperil, but his off turns are literally horrible. TESLA is an awful chaining move.
    For his finishers he gets outperformed by Olive, but still seems like a good option for players without any TDH simply due to having a lot of potential with his CD finishers.
    His future isn't as flawed as others as a finisher due to the incoming competition not being insane for the next batches. Though we might always see more GE finishers, especially Ang. The only real powercreeping finisher I can see down the road though is NG Jake from the batch awakenings.


    Best In Slot:
    So, I still haven't really made up my mind about Adam Jensen. His LB is hard to get so I don't want to use it as a setup move, his fire weapon options are... oof. Vernard is also way too old for a fire sword option.
    I used Fixed Dice for his chaining because that way TESLA still perfectly chains and both of his moves have innate element. Though the difference between FD and his CD move aren't that big. Only like ~7% or so.

    How is the unit as a 6*?
    Adam Jensen
    as a sole 6* isn't that impressive. His damage potential comes from his CD abilities and mostly focuses on burst damage.
    However, as a DW finisher he can still work with Nanoblade as it is a 1400% modifier. Compared to other 6 star finishers this isn't mindblowing, but it is more than serviceable if you can fully chain cap it.
    Other than that Adam has his 45% fullbreak which might prove really handy in your team, especially when it comes down to clearing older content that doesn't necessarily require this much power.
    I'd say he's decent, but shouldn't be used over the other 6 star meta units. Still a great way to start out the game with due to innate DW, breaks and decent damage.


    Arena:
    If you go for an accuracy build Adam can work out in the arena if you get him up to lvl 110 due to his AoE chaining move that shares the same frames as Tornado.
    For new players Adam alongside Tornado chainers can be really good due to most players only having a few or even no evasion units and DW Adam perfectly chaining with Tornado while having high HP and at least some status ailment protections.
    Adam is a decent arena unit but nothing outstanding.

    - Damage Comparisons -

    Let's take a look at his chainer damage and his finisher damage.
    For chaining damage his average damage matters as you often want to chain on most turns whereas the finisher damage output for him will take his burst damage into account as this is what most finishers are used for nowadays.

    Assuming 100% ATK buffs
    ATK post buff: 1726
    Assuming spark chains

    Turn 1: 1726^2 x 3.85 x 12 x 3.53 x 1.375 = 668,037,684 (Typhoon Explosive System)
    Turn 2: 1726^2 x 3.85 x 5.5 x 3.075 x 1.25 = 242,471,184 (TESLA)
    Turn 3: 1726^2 x 3.85 x 5.5 x 3.075 x 1.5 = 290,965,421 (TESLA)
    Turn 4: 1726^2 x 3.85 x 5.5 x 3.075 x 1.5 = 290,965,421 (TESLA)
    Turn 5: 1726^2 x 3.85 x 5.5 x 3.075 x 1.5 = 290,965,421 (TESLA)
    Turn 6: 1726^2 x 3.85 x 5.5 x 3.075 x 1.5 = 290,965,421 (TESLA)

    Average Damage: 345,728,425

    -> 35% higher than Orlandeau ( 256,711,723 )
    -> 32% higher than Lightning ( 261,137,574 )
    -> 22% higher than Squall ( 282,433,060 )
    -> 6% lower than Nalu ( 365,676,755 )
    His Turn 1 is ridiculous and most content will take place for early fights. If you have external imperils you can make it even better, though units like Nalu etc. already take care of most Turn 1 content anyway. It's still significantly better.
    Damage wise he ranks at #2 but his 10 man trial potential is pretty awful, so for all content I might rank him lower than Lightning, though generally Adam is really good.
    His Turn 1 with a DW build is only ~7-8% weaker than TDH FD, but gets a bigger penalty when using TESLA due to breaking chains.

    Assuming 100% ATK buffs
    ATK post buff: 1935 LH | 2012 RH

    Explosive Heat Blade:
    1935^2 x 12 x 4 x 1.5 + 1976^2 x 12 x 4 x 2 = 658,206,024
    -> 51% higher than Dark Knight Cecil ( 433,325,022 )
    -> 11% lower than Viktor CD Move ( 706,730,062 )
    -> 1% higher than Olive Immolation Blast + 75% Imperil ( 647,355,345 )

    Remote Hacking after EHB:
    [ 1935^2 x 17 + 1976^2 x 17 ] x 4 x 2 = 1,059,762,184
    -> 144% higher than Dark Knight Cecil ( 433,325,022 )
    -> 49% higher than Viktor CD Move ( 706,730,062 )
    -> 6% lower than Olive LB + 75% Imperil ( 1,122,082,598 )
    Adam's finishers are quite good, though Olive as long as she has a 75% imperil will be stronger. Olive's CD move will also be a lot better and also applies a 100% imperil while Olive has a self 150% ATK buff, too, so there's a lot of room for Olive to have even more potential.
    But outside of that Adam is quite good and slightly better than Viktor actually. Though I did use a 100% imperil for Remote Hacking, without that one he's worse than Viktor. Meaning you need two turns and setting himself up pretty much to get to that burst damage.
    EDIT: With Bomb Arms or an external imbue and TDH FD you can make Adam stronger than Olive in a 1 turn comparison, though you'd still have to wait until Turn 5 for his CD moves and get his LB etc..


    Trust Master Reward:
    Adam's
    TMR is really good for Dualwielders. It adds 30% ATK with guns, fists, swords and throwing weapons, so possibly 60% ATK while granting 20% True Dualwield. Which means your equipped gear gets a 20% ATK boost. So if you had two 100 ATK swords you'd not have a 200 ATK increase but a total 240 ATK increase.
    This TMR makes Adam a whole lot better as a finisher while also giving him a really strong DW chaining potential for anyone who either doesn't like running TDH FD or doesn't have TDH gear.
    Even if it only adds 30% ATK to your DW units, the 20% TDW makes up for it in pretty much any scenario. I'd definitely grab it if you have the chance, units like Loren in the future will like it.

    Super Trust Master Reward:
    His STMR is currently not as good as it could be. It is a 35 ATK cloth, so 10 ATK below Luneth's from raw ATK while adding another 50% ATK when equipped with guns.
    This is definitely a BiS piece for Adam as he can equip killers more easily. This pretty much affects every gun user. In the future with the 400% stat cap this'll become even better and someone like NG Jake would really like to have this. For TDH you would lose 40 ATK from not equipping Luneth's STMR, but a 50% ATK passive with ~265 base ATK nets you so much more ATK.
    Would I use 2 Adams or grab his STMR? I'd definitely stick to my Adams. His CD move for Turn 1 is insanely good right now and there might not be many Adam leads while his STMR doesn't add too much ATK currently due to the 300% ATK cap. In the future though once he also falls off I'd grab it.


    Conclusion:
    Adam is a perfectly fine unit even when having flaws
    .
    Both as a chainer and finisher Adam can work well and I am positively surprised about his performance.
    Adam is capable of supporting you a little bit with a 45% fullbreak on a similar level as Viktor though he can be equipped with both DW or TDH FD / Machine Gun+, so he has all of these options. His chaining potential with his CD move in the early stages of a fight are currently outstanding and unmatched. Only Nalu's LB can reach higher levels of damage but that one isn't available at Turn 1. His off turns for the DW variant are painful though as TESLA is pretty much not able to do much. For TDH that's not as bad.
    His finishers are really easy to use and setup and even when having such a bad fire weapon he still gets somewhat near an Olive. With STMRs the gap would be a lot bigger obviously, but it's still surprising to see him having a good amount of burst damage in his kit.
    Adam works for both free players due to innate Dualwield and high damage as well as veterans with their TDH sets. He isn't the best as a chainer nor as a finisher but he has unique aspects that currently nobody shares such as an insanely strong Turn 1 which many might be interested in due to a lot of content being easy.
    In the future he won't be performing as well as now due to being DW and not having W-Ability, but I can see him being serviceable at pretty much all times.
    Would I pull for him? If you plan to pull for Hyoh, no chance.

    I am wondering though.
    Why is in your builds, the chaining is TDH and finisher is DW? shouldn't it be reversal?

    His TESLA breaks with DW, but both of his chaining moves have innate elements. Whereas his biggest finisher doesn't have an element and thus doesn't benefit from TDH'ing something that much.

    To respond to your question: I always anxiously await the reviews but there’s no real urgency except maybe for KM events when it’s important to pull or not early to maximize bonus.
