A machine engineer from Dilmagia who specializes in weaponry. Aileen develops weapons of a smaller, more personal scale than those mounted on the airships constructed in her hometown. Currently, she travels across the world polishing her skills in combat and claims that there is a weapon for everyone.
What do we have here? People call you "Waifu", but are you truly related to mangas and animes? ::thonk:: Let's talk about Aileen's Enhancements today! :)

    Pre-Enhancements:
Aileen Review from back in the day https://brave-exvius.com/threads/unit-review-aileen-final-fantasy-brave-exvius.14654/.
Now that we have that covered, let's talk about how she is currently.

Right now, Aileen did fall off a lot compared to back then. Her equipment choice and stats still are really good, but her chain move is just pesky to chain and doesn't deal the highest damage. Piledriver with its 5 hits and only 400% modifier doesn't shine anymore for more obvious reasons.

Her supportive aspects became nearly irrelevant. Nobody really used Recovery Oil nor the MP move. Only rarely I used the AoE stone resistance, you could just gear against petrification.

Overall Aileen's versatility in her kit did not last that long as we gained more and more great support options while her damage fell off, but can still clear almost any content up to Aigaion currently. My ALT is still using Aileen because that account doesn't have any better 5* chainers. So she is not completely dead, viable but mediocre.

So how did she fare up to now? Decently actually. Aileen isn't nearly a meta unit, but she still deals her respective damage while keeping up that insane equipment versatility, which probably attracted many to use her. Especially the True Doublehand and Fixed Dice combination will come in handy in combination with Ground Work and Piledriver! But we will take a closer look to that in a second...

    Post-Enhancements:
Now, we had great stats before. We had great unconditional ATK passives and an insane equipment selection. But what do we have now?

First up, her stats receive more increases. Not only does Aileen gain another 20% HP with Analysis +2, but also gains another additional 50% ATK once you equip a spear on her for a total of 110% ATK innately! That's really good. Her two machine and stone killers get a 25% boost, fine enough.

Recovery Oil +2 also is quite good, I have to say. The AoE regen gets stronger by 300 HP per turn, which is a fine enough AoE HP regen if you lack the healing per turn and just can't keep up with the damage. However, the more interesting part about this is the AoE 3 turn 50% LB fillrate. While it isn't that much of a buff, if you run a team that has great limit bursts, this, combined with the AoE Regen, can work out really well. But doesn't do much for every team, depends on what you use. So Aileen can support you a bit.

"But what about her Piledriver +2, Meme?"
Alright, alright, you want it so.
With her new acquired Piledriver +2, Aileen becomes a wrecking force. The hit count goes up from 5 to 7, which makes it a lot easier and stronger to chain with her already. But the modifier also goes up to 500%! So even more damage. Wait! Her earth imperil ALSO goes up to 75% imperil, making it overall a massive increase in damage compared to the regular Piledriver! This is a really strong enhancement while the earth element also is rarely resisted, making it very very appealing. Easier and stronger chains, stronger modifiers and stronger imperils. Triple win!

    Side-Notes:
This is just quickly to adress that we might see Camille 6* soon. She does chain perfectly with Aileen's Piledriver +2 in case you are desperately hoping for an Aileen chain partner.

    Best In Slot:
We have two builds for her. The first is the Dualwield build, which is easier to use and still deals a lot of damage. And of course the True Doublehand Fixed Dice build!

However, you have to take into account that A2 could get her Limit Burst on turn 1 (in that case both A2s need it), which could boost her damage by quite a lot. Also A2 seems to be easier to spark because of her very fast frames. This damage comparison is pretty hard to properly say. The maths show that DW Aileen loses, but TDH FD Aileen wins, while both don't have spark chains taken into account, but A2 can easily get higher damage than displayed.
    So DW Aileen loses.
TDH FD Aileen is pretty much on par with A2, possibly worse, possibly better.
But, if you don't have any external imperils for A2, Aileen easily wins.
ALSO, if you only use Dualwield units, A2 is the only one who is better than Aileen.

Enhanced Aileen [IMG] VS [IMG] Tidus
    • Aileen has higher base ATK and 10% (FD) or 60% (DW) higher ATK passives
    • Aileen has 75% stone/machine killers
    • Tidus has 50% beast, bird and demon killers
    • Tidus has insane LB fillrate
    • Tidus has status ailment protection
    • Both use TDH FD
    • Tidus has 30% phys dodge
    • Tidus has Entrust
    • Both have decent AoE buffs
    • Tidus has higher hit counts
    • Tidus has a seperate 100% imperil
    • Aileen has inbuild 75% imperils
You got it by now, RIGHT INTO THE DAMAGE COMPARISON.

Keep in mind, 2B, if she had her LB up a lot more, could deal even higher damage.
    Aileen loses.

    Recommendation:
Analysis - Good HP and great ATK boost for the Dualwield build while also increasing her killer boosts. This is relatively cheap and uses up Tech crysts. Even though the TDH FD build doesn't take real advantage over this enhancement, it still increases her survivability and occasional damage. If you use her, enhance this. Especially the DW Aileens!

Piledriver - Massive damage boost, higher hit count, easier time chaining. However, Piledriver +2 takes 12x T4 and 4x T5 power crysts and 2 million gil! If you want to use Aileen, this still is a 100% must enhance, but for players that have different options, they might hesitate.

Recovery Oil - You can skip this. It uses up fairly cheap amounts of healing crysts, who aren't really useful, but it also doesn't add too much to her kit. If you want the option, you can enhance it or not. It's not an awful enhancement, it's not a great enhancement. I'd say just go for it, Healing crysts are almost never used.

    Conclusion:
    Aileen's enhancements are wonderful
    !
She gains a bit of survivability, but she definitely came back into the meta. Especially for players that do not own true doublehand gear, she is just insane. If you can spark chain Aileen, she can also dish out massive damage with both builds, but it's pretty hard.
Overall with both builds, depending on the situation she can be on par with Tidus and A2 and for DW builds she sits on #2 in the damage comparisons. These enhancements are great, even if she is not the absolute best, she still has a lot of power to unleash. So don't hold back on Aileen if you like her!
Enhance her if you can, but it's costly.

    Good work memeboi, nice homework!

Although we pretty much knew already :)

Edit: There is also another plus on eAileen, it's that piledriver +2 becomes a 8 frame movement, easily chaineable with 2B Avoid attack or eTT Chaos awakened (20 hit).

I sometimes don't read your reviews. Specially when they are about Enhanced units I don't have.

But I still give a like, why? Because of the effort I know you put into them and because I may get the character in the near future and this way I have them tagged.

    So, well done as always!

Great Review, but why no comparison to Onion Knight? I have 2 Aileen's and Onion Knights which I use now and don't want to invest in fully enhancing both Aileens if they not better then Onion Knigt

Enhanced her and she's my carry for this KM event - LGD. Hopefully, we get Camille 6* soon for 10-man trials. Thanks for the review!

I would hold off from enhancing Aileen (at least for now) unless you have desperate damage dealing issues that your OK's can't cover (and I would definitely hold off from enhancing both Aileens: just use a friend one). As for 10-man trials, do you have anyone between Orlandeau or DV? Either of those with eAgrias (or, of course, Landu and DV together) is probably a better choice than Aileen with Camille 6* (when we get her).

Then I guess you could still wait to enhance her until we get Camille 6*. There may be no need to rush enhancing her if you don't have many problems at dealing damage, especially considering that eAileen won't be too useful in the coming 2 regular trials (Moose is resistant to Earth and Iron Giant is normally killed by OTKOing him from 50% Hp using a magic finisher with stacking abilities that caps chains - any chains).

Welp... guess that means I am ditching OK for eAileen. Have Tidus... but no Cloud....

Question... if I run eAileen's imperil and A2 w/ Crag Splitter (ATK+56, DEF+15, HP +5% Element: Earth) instead of a normal 100+ atk great sword.. is that going to out-damage non-elemental/non-imperiled A2? It a lot less atk on the sword, but the imperil seems like it would more than make up for it. While they won't chain.. sounds like a lot of damage on one team.

Don't have Aileen but I always read your 5star reviews just to keep up to date on things. Thanks for all the great info in all your reviews.

That being said I have to ask if your going to add reviews for eFohlen, eWoL, and maybe the 4star units in Bach's banner. Jus curious, i know you already got alot on your plate. Thanks again.

The comparisons in this review for 2B and tidus are FD TDH builds.
