An elven warrioress who claims to be the daughter of a merchant from a distant land. Fryevia is on a journey to find equipment suitable for her abilities, as she is much more skilled with the sword than the average soldier. She usually disguises herself as a human and enjoys interacting with others. Always exuding an air of purity and elegance, it may be surprising to learn that she believes money to be no object in order to obtain what she desires.
Many people have been so hyped about her enhancements. AND TODAY WE FINALLY KNOW, is she great? Is she poop? HMMMMMMMMMM?

    Pre-Enhancements:
    Fryevia
, similar to our beloved Tidus, was actually still quite a powerhouse.

Her base stats are completely fine. The ATK/MAG isn't phenomenal, but they are pretty high for the sake of being a hybrid. With innate 30% ATK and 60% MAG however, this was a bit of a let down passive boost wise.
Some of her traits were great though. 7% MP refresh, 100% chance to ignore one fatal attack when above 20% HP, 20% phys/mag dodge. Fryevia was frail though. With no innate HP/DEF/SPR passives she has a high chance of dying in a fight once her ignore fatal attack passive already procced.

One of her biggest flaws that sort of restrict her own power is the equipment selection. Fryevia is only able to innately equip a sword. No other weapon. This means no rods, no large swords, no throwing weapons, all of that. Luckily her own TMR is strong enough to mostly make up for that.

Her innate 100% DH and 50% mDH wasn't used. The results with Dualwielding two of her own TMRs was just THAT much higher and there isn't any real reason on why to use the one-handed build.

Damage wise Fryevia was high up. Back in the day she was absolutely nuts and made Orlandeau upon release look like a weakling. One week after we got Orlandeau people could not believe the power she brought.
Fryevia then took a very long time to fall off in the meta as we got more strong units such as A2. Then TDH came and she was mostly off the board.

However, recently we got Kunshira. And her TMR made Fryevia shine again.
She now has the highest hybrid chaining damage already with Frost Flower Blitz, a 800% hybrid move with a 50% ice imperil. Compared to some other units (if you assume equal def/spr) she actually gets on a similar level to the top mages. So enhancements were not necessary at all.

    Post-Enhancements:
Once again, I ask you: What happens when a unit, that's already quite powerful, receives decent enhancements?
They become top tier (for the most part).

The same happened to Fryevia, once again you will see her high up for quite a time now. That's what I predict. Let's take a look at what changed.

Before we go on: Fryevia received +50% mDH with Duelist Pose +2. THIS is not worth going for the DH build, you should mostly stick to Dualwield. I will show that later on in the damage section. It's a great alternative if you do not have the proper gear for a DW build, which is a very very expensive one, but ultimatively it's not the better option.

Fryevia's first problem got solved. Her survivability. Fryevia, once fully enhanced, receives a 30% all stat boost except for her MP, which also means 30% HP/DEF/SPR. She can actually survive attacks now. Combined with her 20% phys/mag dodge and ignore fatal attacks she might even take several punches without dying. These boost come from Duelist Pose +2 and Cold and Confident +2.

Regarding Fryevia's offensive stats, the 30% all stat boost definitely helps. 30% ATK/MAG on top of what she had before results in a 60% ATK and 90% MAG boost. It's not on the same level of Kunshira's traits, but it's still high. She can reach high ATK and MAG now with a decent build. Stat wise she definitely got almost everything she wanted.

Alongside Frost Flower Blitz, Fryevia had a 600% 1-Hit hybrid finisher in the past that some used occasionally. Nowadays it's weak. While the enhancements did try to change that and gave it a 300% modifier boost (600% if used after Ice Saber or Frost Flower Blitz), it's still not really worth using. If you want a hybrid finisher, you should stick to Kunshira. Second Intention +2 should be your... SECOND option. Get it? Oh my god....

Lastly, the enhancement everybody has been waiting for: Frost Flower Blitz +2. It's back! It's actually back my boys (and girls)! Once you fully upgrade it, NOT ONLY does it go up to a 1000% hybrid modifier... NOT ONLY does it go up to a 75% ice imperil.... BUT it also now chains with the Divine Ruination family (currently Orlandeau, e.Agrias, Veritas of the Dark). THIS ENHANCEMENT ROCKS. A very powerful damage upgrade and the addition of chain partners. Also a 75% imperil. Just great, this is a boost for the Divine Ruination family as this is the highest imperil but Fryevia is also the highest damage dealing one from them. Also makes her a lot easier to chain, which was a big complaint in the past.

    Side-Notes:
Nothing to add. GE unit, no clue about her future. No sneaky methods on how to use her either.

    Best In Slot:
As I previously said: Doublehand is not her best option (sadly). However, I will still include a Doublehand build for the people who cannot afford a proper Dualwield build. Though the DH build is still sort of stupidly hard to build.
Also, quick note: the BiS Dualwield requirements are worse than the TDH FD builds.
    Onion Sword (135 ATK)
    Prishe's Hairpin (45 ATK)
    Cloud's Uniform (15 ATK)

    Buster Style (100% TDH)
    ADV 5 (40% ATK/MAG)
    Uncollapsing Will (40% ATK)
    Chosen One (50% ATK)

    Stats with Bahamut:

Ring of the Lucii (3 MAG, 30% ATK/MAG)
    Nature Loving Spellblade x3 (120% ATK/MAG)
    ADV 5 (40% ATK/MAG)

    Stats with Bahamut:
    892 ATK
    1054 MAG

    Enhanced Fryevia's [IMG] Damage Output

I'll compare the DH damage to the DW damage in this section. While also obviously showing her damage dealing capabilities to use them further on for comparisons.
    1732 ATK
    Post 100% ATK buff: 1911
    504 MAG
Post 100% MAG buff: 675 MAG

    3,21 AVG chain modifier

    Turn 1: ((1911^2 x 10 x 3.21) + (675^2 x 10 x 3.21))/2 = 65926113
    Turn 2: ((1911^2 x 10 x 3.21 x 1.75) + (675^2 x 10 x 3.21 x 1.75))/2 = 115370698
    800 ATK (both hands)
    Post 100% ATK buff: (979 | 979)
    1054 MAG
Post 100% MAG buff: 1225 MAG

    3,21 AVG chain modifier

    Turn 1: ((979^2 x 10 x 3.21 + 979^2 x 10 x 4 x 1,75) + (1225^2 x 10 x 3.21 + 1225^2 x 10 x 4 x 1.75)) / 2 = 125535319
    Turn 2: ((979^2 x 10 x 3.21 x 1.75 + 979^2 x 10 x 4 x 1,75) + (1225^2 x 10 x 3.21 x 1.75 + 1225^2 x 10 x 4 x 1.75)) / 2 = 155136326

    First 3 turns: 145,269,323
    First 5 turns: 149,216,124
    (Important for later)
Is a Doublehand truly better then? Not at all.
On Turn 1, Fryevia's DH build deals about 47% less damage on Turn 1 and about 26% less damage on Turn 2. So yes, there it is: scientific proof that DW > DH for Fryevia.

Enhanced Fryevia [IMG] VS [IMG] Enhanced Tidus
    - Damage Comparison -

This indeed is a very interesting comparison. Why am I comparing her to Tidus? Well, it should be very obvious that if she was the strongest Hybrid Chainer before the enhancement, she will stay at that spot. While e.Tidus deals the highest chain damage currently.
Since Tidus has rotations and is using set ups, you might wonder when exactly Fryevia will take the lead and when she might lose against him ASSUMING equal DEF/SPR. Let's first look at Tidus' maths.
ATK with 100% ATK buff: 1264 ATK each hand
    Assuming spark chains
average Quick Hit chain multiplier 3.534
    average LB chain multiplier: 3.02

    First three turns (without Eccentrick)
    Turn 1: 1264^2 x 7.2 x 3.54 + 1264^2 x 7.2 x 4 = 86,735,720 (Quick Hit +2)
    Turn 2: 1264^2 x 7.2 x 3.54 + 1264^2 x 7.2 x 4 = 86,735,720 (Quick Hit +2)
    Turn 3: 1264^2 x 3.02 x 4.1 = 19,782,672 (Limit Burst)

    Rotation after 100% water imperil
    Turn 4: 1264^2 x 7.2 x 3.54 x 2 + 1264^2 x 7.2 x 4 x 2 = 173,471,441 (Quick Hit +2)
    Turn 5: 1264^2 x 7.2 x 3.54 x 2 + 1264^2 x 7.2 x 4 x 2 = 173,471,441 (Quick Hit +2)
    Turn 6: 1264^2 x 7.2 x 3.54 x 2 + 1264^2 x 7.2 x 4 x 2 = 173,471,441 (Quick Hit +2)
    Turn 7: 1264^2 x 7.2 x 3.54 x 2 + 1264^2 x 7.2 x 4 x 2 = 173,471,441 (Quick Hit +2)
    Turn 8: 1264^2 x 7.2 x 3.54 x 2 + 1264^2 x 7.2 x 4 x 2 = 173,471,441 (Quick Hit +2)
    Turn 9: 1264^2 x 3.02 x 4.1 = 19,782,672 (Limit Burst)

    AVG damage
    132,576,415
(with the first three turns + the rotation)
    148,023,313 (Rotation after first LB)
ATK with 100% ATK buff: 1183 ATK
    Assuming spark chains
average Quick Hit chain multiplier 3.534
    average LB chain multiplier: 3.02

    First Rotation
    Turn 1: 1183^2 x 3.85 x 4 x 1.15 = 24,784,950 (Jecht Shot)
    Turn 2: 1183^2 x 3.85 x 7.2 x 3.534 = 137,097,413 (Quick Hit +2)
    Turn 3: 1183^2 x 3.85 x 4.1 x 3.02 = 66,714,620 (Limit Burst)
    Turn 4: 1183^2 x 3.85 x 7.2 x 3.534 x 2 = 274,194,826 (Quick Hit +2)
    Turn 5: 1183^2 x 3.85 x 7.2 x 3.534 x 2 = 274,194,826 (Quick Hit +2)

    Second Rotation
    Turn 6: 1183^2 x 3.85 x 4 x 1.15 x 2 = 49,569,900 (Jecht Shot)
    Turn 7: 1183^2 x 3.85 x 7.2 x 3.534 x 2 = 274,194,826 (Quick Hit +2)
    Turn 8: 1183^2 x 3.85 x 4.1 x 3.02 x 2 = 133,429,241 (Limit Burst)
    Turn 9: 1183^2 x 3.85 x 7.2 x 3.534 x 2 = 274,194,826 (Quick Hit +2)
    Turn 10: 1183^2 x 3.85 x 7.2 x 3.534 x 2 = 274,194,826 (Quick Hit +2)

    Average Damage
    155,397,327 (First Rotation)
    178,257,025 (First + Second Rotation)
    201,116,721 (Second Rotation)

Quick Hit +2 on Turn 1: (3,39 chain modifier)
    1183^2 x 3.85 x 7.2 x 3.39 = 131511100
His Dualwield damage (average) straight up loses. Not much to talk about here.
Now onto his TDH FD damage.
If we take the information of Tidus' First Rotation, we will see that Fryevia WILL lose out against the rotation I used on Turn 5.
If we change up Tidus' rotation so that he is using his LB at Turn 2 (which is unlikely), his First Rotation will be a lot stronger and thus will effectively outdamage her at Turn 4.
BUT what if we use Quick Hit at Turn 1 instantly? Well, Tidus' instant Quick Hit +2 outdamages Fryevia's first turn. At Turn 2 Fryevia already catched up again.
Thus Fryevia stays ahead of Tidus at Turn 3-4 depending on how fast you can get his Limit Burst and for very short fights will lose out to him.
However, the longer the battle goes the more damage Tidus will deal compared to Fryevia. Especially with the random damage spikes of Fixed Dice he might get a massive roll or a pretty low one.
Also do note: Tidus' rotations have a weak start to it, which makes avoiding threshholds a lot easier and then burst them down.
DW Tidus loses. TDH FD Tidus generally wins.

    Recommendation:
    Duelist Pose
: A pretty good enhancement generally that takes a good bunch of Gil and Tech crysts. The first enhancement is useless for min/max guys, but the second one grants her a 30% ATK/DEF/MAG/SPR boost. Which isn't overwhelmingly powerful, but a really nice boost. I'd enhance it.

Cold and Confident: This is one of the enhancements you CAN easily skip, but it's also very cheap. Using guard crysts (alongside crap english). In total you will gain 30% HP and 30% ice resistance, the latter one being pretty irrelevant. Basically you enhance this for 30% HP, it's good because her innate HP is miserably low and her equipment choice doesn't really boost it. With ADV 5, Duelist Pose +2 and this enhancement she will be quite bulky.

Second Intention: Immediate skip. The damage upgrade isn't really that high while Fryevia also isn't meant to be a good finisher. She will still be below Kunshira when it comes down to dealing damage as a hybrid finisher and Second Intention is quite expensive in Power Crysts, which are important crysts.

Frost Flower Blitz: Frost Flower Blitz is THE enhancement if you are going to use Fryevia. Either you enhance this or you won't use her at all most likely. Once you fully enhance this, you can now chain her with Orlandeau and co. , get a 75% ice imperil and a great 1000% hybrid modifier. The cost however is the highest possible with 12x T4 and 4x T5 black crysts and 2 million gil. Expensive, but a massive boost in damage.

    Conclusion:
Fryevia became a very strong unit.
She is actually at the #2 spot of chain damage right now if you assume equal DEF/SPR (and if you don't use a very heavy LB spam 2B setup). This means a deadly chainer that is very easy to chain, has many chain partners and a great imperil to set them up as well, great allround stats and many tools to survive in a fight and of course: massive damage.
However, one huge issue many will face when building her are the requirements. Her build takes a lot of dedicated gear, a BiS build takes even more than a TDH FD build (which is often criticised for being so hard to build). Though I am sure even a decent Fryevia will deal tons of damage.
As long as you don't have a fully enhanced Tidus with great gear, either DW or TDH, you should definitely enhance this monster. If you do have Tidus fully enhanced, you don't need to enhance her. But I know many really like this unit. So just go for it dude, who am I to stop you anyways?
Fryevia is great and will be for a long time (probably).

Right, so BiS DW Fryevia does less than 1% more damage than BiS DW Tidus, but requires 9 5*-base TMR's (Tidus "only" requires 5). What a waste of enhancements ::rudecat10::

Sure wish I had one. Oh man! She's a beast even outside of all that BiS gear.

The one time I tried to use Fryevia, i found out the cruel truth about her. She was damn near impossible to chain with without petty tricks. If her chaining issue is fixed, now I really want to give her a shot. Aigaion will fall this weekend.

Really nice enhancements. Too bad they didnt add w-ability when single wielding, that would have made the mTDH route viable.

Making an Icelandu is an easy build with my ice katana.

But, how to build a Lightevia for bosses that resist ice?

    That's a problem.

Edit: Potential solution- Ray Jack?! Finally a use for his light embue?

Instantly enhanced everything but Second Intention... still on the fence about that one, what do you guys think?

I juuuuuust grinded for so long for Tidus's enhancements but now Fryevia is looking just as good! I use DW Tidus build so Fryevia may be my go-to now?!
But I only have one Kunshira, so I wont be able to do Fry's BiS, but I'll be pretty damn close to it.

By the way, I am linking a thread on reddit that could be useful for those that are getting all hyped about using Fryevia on 10-man trials: https://www.reddit.com/r/FFBraveExv...ybrid_damage_and_type_immune_bosses_an_issue/

The TL;DR of that thread is this: using hybrid skills will still make you do damage to bosses which are either physical or magic immune/resistant, but the portion of the damage that isn't being resisted is HALVED. In other words, if you use FFB +2 against a boss that is, say, immune to magic damage, its modifier is essentially a 2.5x with 75% ice imperil and that modifier just uses the ATK value (with the usual DW mechanics of separate ATK for the two hands). Hybrid skills can still be useful from time to time against physical or magic resistant bosses, but this makes them way less appealing than what one could think at first sight.

Awesome Review Meme. Does this mean she outdamages eTT? (ignoring the fact that TTerra is AOE and elementless)

And with this set of enhancements, I find that I can't deny the truth anymore. I've known it was coming for a while, but its time to say goodbye.

I'm sorry A2, but I'm going to have to bench you...
