A woman who appears in tales from another world, where she played a role in the great conflict between humankind and espers. Able to wield magical powers believed lost to the world, Terra was used as a weapon by the Gestahl Empire bent on world domination. However, she was eventually saved by the treasure hunter Locke and joined him in the fight against the empire by becoming a member of the Returners. Dedicating herself to their cause, she travels with the group to see the esper Valigarmanda, where a strange power resonates with her. In moments, Terra transforms into an esper and flees to an unknown location.
Time for Trance Terra to finally shine again, and she really does.

    Pre-Enhancements:
    Trance Terra
    wasn't really standing out.
While her base stats are good and she has surprisingly high HP with decent passives e.g. 60% MAG, 30% SPR and 30% MP, it didn't really do the trick.

Trance Terra's issue was that she had to use Magical Activation every other turn to gain her powerful version of Chaos Wave that hits 10 times and even then, a 720% Modifier currently isn't thaaat amazing if you keep in mind that she has to reapply her self buff.
But every other turn makes this an average 360% modifier without any elements which means it's completely outdated and doesn't do the job anymore at all.

DC Black Magic allowed her to DC Ultima, but that's really outdated as well.

She has some neat options with Full-Life to bring back allies in emergency cases, but overall a rather niche move other than useful.

That's about it, Trance Terra does not have a lot of things to talk about, her other abilities were either underwhelming regarding their numbers or just so niche that it never really saw action.

    Post-Enhancements:
Just like Emperor, everything changes from here on basically. While she doesn't gain as many tools as Emperor does, Trance Terra receives higher prowess.

And that Prowess she now wields is just devastating. Probably a little too strong, but hey, the enhancements are expensive, make them worth it.

In terms of passive boosts, Trance Terra or rather Inherited Power gains another whopping 50% MAG, 30% elemental resistance against fire, thunder and ice and something I always love to see: 20% HP. Give me all those beautiful HP on a mage with decent HP base.

Ultima... I'm a little demotivated to talk about that, Ultima enhancements are super underwhelming. Basically gains more damage and more hits but doesn't really do the cut especially against the following abilities you will see.

Now we get to Trance Terra's massive power. It's a combination of Magical Activation and Chaos Wave.

While Magical Activation +2 gains DC White Magic and 120% MAG/SPR buffs, which are both quite neat but not the actual reason for that power, it makes you able to use Chaos Wave twice in a turn. For 5 turns! That's a long duration for what it grants.

But Chaos Wave +2 not only gains higher modifiers up to either 420% with the regular or 840% with the Awakened one, but it also can be reused now.

Combine Magical Activation +2 and Chaos Wave +2 and you basically can use Awakened Chaos Wave +2 TWICE for 5 turns after you apply the self 120% MAG/SPR buff.
That makes it so you have a 1680% modifier each turn! With 20 hits!
I highly recommend you finding a way to spark chain this ability everytime, because if you do, that makes her easily the best magic chainer and most likely outdamages a lot of physical chainers.
Keep in mind: it's AoE and non-elemental, so pretty neat.

That's about her enhancements. Trance Terra is truly an insane magic chainer.

    Best In Slot:
    • Right Hand: Mateus's Malice +19ATK+129MAG+10%HP
    • Left Hand: Mateus's Malice +19ATK+129MAG+10%HP
    • Head: Trick Hat +35MAG/SPR+15%MP
    • Body: Rainbow Robe +45DEF/MAG/SPR+30%All element except Dark
    • Accessory 1: Genji Glove +10%ATK/MAG & Dual Wield
    • Accessory 2: Celestial Gloves +30ATK/DEF/MAG/SPR
    • Ability 1: Rod Mastery +50%MAG w/ Rod
    • Ability 2: Dark Bond +30%MAGw/Rod +20%MAGw/Robe
    • Ability 3: Sworn Six's Pride Light +20%HP+40%MAG+ReducedTargetChance
    • Ability 4: Adventurer 5 +40%ATK/DEF/MAG/SPR
    Total Stats: HP: 6139 MP: 418 ATK: 261 DEF: 299 MAG: 1167 SPR: 441
    With the 120% MAG/SPR buff : 1388 MAG and 628 SPR

Enhanced Trance Terra [IMG] VS [IMG] Fryevia

    - Trance Terra has either higher base stats or higher passives
    - Trance Terra has way higher survivability due to 30% physical dodge and 20% HP
    - Fryevia can instantly start chaining, T.Terra is delayed for one turn
    - While Fryevia can abuse the ice elemental, its mod is massively outshined by Trance Terra's
    - Fryevia is a hybrid unit build around MAG
    - Trance Terra is non elemental which means it can't abuse weaknesses but can't be resisted
    - Fryevia is locked into ice elemental and poor weapon choice

Let's think this through logically. Besides the rather unappealing one turn setup, Trance Terra should outdamage Fryevia in the third turn.
Fryevia has rather shitty ATK so I will ignore that part, by then she has a 4x mag mod with 8 hits. So that's a (4x + 6x) + 12x + 12x modifier in three turns, meaning 34.0x mod in three turns.
Trance Terra has to buff herself up and then begins to chain with a 16.8x modifier each turn, means a total of 33.6x modifier in the first three turns.
Keep in mind that Trance Terra has higher hit count, WAY higher MAG (especially with the 120% MAG buff). So Trance Terra should easily make Fryevia look like crap the longer the fight goes.
Besides, Trance Terra also has really neat survivability with the 30% fire, ice, thunder resistance, the extra 20% HP and of course the 30% physical dodge.
PS: Trance Terra is an AoE chainer.
    Trance Terra wins.

Enhanced Trance Terra [IMG] VS [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] Magic Chainers

I am a little lazy on this one, guilty. But in all honesty, if you beat Fryevia in magic damage, you basically made all other magic chainers irrelevant in comparison.
And Trance Terra does indeed outdamage Fryevia rather easily, there isn't really a niche that these Magic Chainers have over her and definitely do not outdamage her. There were lots of discussions on Fryevia VS XY in the past, Fryevia always won, now she lost and Trance Terra is back.

    Recommendation:

Definitely enhance everything but Ultima. She's expensive but one of the best enhancement choices in a long time.

Inheritated Power: Decent enhancements costs, not too expensive and makes her gain 20% HP and 50% MAG for free, so definitely go for this if you are going to use her. Makes her feel a lot more smooth and reliable. Also it's using Guard mats, should not been used too much in the past.

    Ultima: No.

Magical Activation: Gains some extra strength in buffs, makes her being able to DC Full-Life for niche support but also makes her able to DC Chaos Wave, which makes her go through the roof. It's really expensive and is using tech mats but has such a high power spike in her kit, I'd definitely enhance it.

Chaos Wave: Just like Magical Activation, a huge buff to Trance Terra because you can reuse the awakened Chaos Wave version after you used Magical Activation at least once, which means a 1680% modifier with 20 hits each turn!
Though it's not as expensive on the Gil side, it's really expensive in black mats again. But I'd highly recommend enhancing it.

    Conclusion:
    Trance Terra
is just insanely strong, I'd suggest you just seeing her power for yourself.
Something that makes her really nice to pick up is, that you can go either the sword route with her with letters and arms or just go the rod route if you have lots of mage gear.
Either way, you can gear her easily as a more experienced player, which would give you the opportunity to maybe build one T.Terra with swords, the other one with rods. Or Emperor as finisher with rods and T.Terra with swords.
Anyway, she's great. I'm going to enhance her immediately alongside Emperor.

    Character Design: 8/10
    Sprite: 9/10
    Chainer: 9.5/10
    Trust Master Reward: 6/10
    Arena: 7/10
    Limit Burst: 5/10
    Free 2 Play: 8/10
    Pay 2 Play: 9.5/10
    Personal Rating: 9.5/10
    Optimal Rating: 9-9.5/10

And that's it. She had the honor to be the very first unit to get the Memel0rd pink color as highlighting.

Dark Robe is BiS on her (for now).
If you have Noel his TMR is also BiS.
Also, note that Fry's skills work with killers, and can be elementally debuffed.

The only use for enhanced Ultima is the possibility of chaining with enhanced DFina, right? I was thinking about enhancing her fully but now I have doubts about Ultima.

Yup, chaining with D.Fina in 10 man for example. Else, I don't see what use it has when she can do so much better?

Dark Bond doesn't work with the swimsuit Ash. 5 more raw Mag but lose out on the 20% extra Mag of the materia.

It's BiS MAG but its just bad compared to rainbow robe.
10 higher MAG over 25 SPR, 15 DEF and lots of elemental resistances.

Woops, sorry BiS Mag is Rod and not L&A ? I'm surprised. Anyway, BiS is a really relative question as maxing dumbly atk or mag will be less efficient that reaching very high mag or atk but still having decent overall stats. Let's say, Rainbow robe instead of Dark Robe, for example :)

In the leaks page it says Magical Activation uses tech mats. Isn't that right?

Does it matter if she has Fryevia Needle or not? She doesnt attack with her weapon, so I could build my first enhanced TT with the above mentioned Bis build and my second with Fryevia Needle 3x L&A and Sworn Light without proccing the Ice element of the weapon? Or will the Ice Element apply on chaos wave?

Could enhance emperor and 2 TT but I dont have enough gold for that , god damn.
