    Pros:
    Estark is a very simple unit similar to Dragonlord.

    Estark's basestats are standard with high ATK and good HP/DEF/SPR. Though his statpassives are better than average especially with his own TMR. Vanilla he has innate 70% ATK, 30% TDW, 20% HP/DEF and innate dualwield which makes him easy to use for everyone who picks him up. Estark's 15% MP refresh helps out a lot as it negates all of his non-CD ability MP costs.

    Though his stats gain a huge boost once you equip him with his own TMR. It increases his ATK by 60% when equipped with a sword AND his Trust Ability increases his ATK by an additional 50% as well as a 30% HP/MP buff. Afterwards you will end up having 180% ATK, 30% TDW, 50% HP, 30% MP, 20% DEF and 15% MP refresh. This sounds a lot more outstanding than 70% ATK, doesn't it?

    Maybe he isn't as linear as Dragonlord, but similarly. That does not mean that Estark has no access to support though. In fact, he has two handy abilities that might make your fight a lot easier.

    Disruptive Wave is an AoE Dispel which always can come in handy. Many trial bosses with multiple parts tend to buff themselves up. This also is a re-occuring theme for events, though they often are a lot easier than trials. Even if you only face a single enemy, having an innate Dispel can always be useful at some point.

    His second support move I was talking about is True Attack Attacker. Not only having a weird name, this ability deals a little bit of damage but more importantly breaks the enemy's ATK by 60% for 5 turns. This is basically one of Ramza's breaks and at the start of the fight or rather at any point in the fight this might be a huge help. Either when using Basch's single 50% breaks or having a Wilhelm 7* / Awakened Rain in your team, this will do greatly. Your breaker can use a strong MAG break while Estark applies his strong ATK break.

    Regarding his own buffs Estark can buff his own ATK by 200% for the next 3 turns (effectively 2 turns) and fill his LB up by 10, which can be used somewhat effectively as a semi finisher though it isn't the best investment it is still a possibility. The self ATK buff is decent for burst damage, though averagely you shouldn't use it.

    One of his two CD abilities might see some play. It's available on Turn 1 with a 5 turn cooldown and True Complete Awakening buffs Estark's mitigation by 30%, makes him immune to all status ailments and increases his ele resistances by 100% for 3 turns. It's a very defensive tool and if you do not have a magic tank and need to face a lot of elemental damage it's a lot easier to make Estark survive.

    When it comes down to damage output Estark is able to chain with two families: Divine Ruination and Onion Slicer. Though after Onion Knight's enhancements Onion Slicer+ has slightly different frames.

    Lordly Thrust, his DR move, has a 500% modifier effectively and once Estark gets up to lvl 110 he gets a 90% mod boost on this one. Since it has 50% DEF ignore it goes up to an effective modifier of 680% which is the exact same as Orlandeau's just without the imperil. So Estark would fit well with chainers that already have imperils such as Orlandeau, Raegen or Sephiroth.

    His Onion Slice move, Lighting Storm, is actually a CD ability with a 5 turn cooldown and not available on Turn 1. This one is mostly useful if you use two Estark's and choose to run them dark elemental or even non elemental.
    It is an AoE 1000% move with an AoE 100% dark imperil and imbues Estark with dark for 3 turns. It deals a lot more damage than Lordly Thrust especially after the 100% imperil but the first 5 turns before that are a lot worse if you don't have any external imperils and if you don't use dark. It's a weird move.


    Cons:
    Since Estark is such a linear unit it means all the previously mentioned abilities aren't really flawed per se. So see most of this as nitpicking because his biggest flaw comes from powercreep basically.

    Estark without his CD ability has no innate status ailment protection and the buff only lasts 3 turns while you are likely to not use it too often. You'll have to watch out for that and possibly dedicate a good amount of gear in order to make him resistant against all the pesky status ailments.

    His CD move Lighting Storm is rather controversial than anything.
    The main advantage of having a Divine Ruination move is the ability to chain with many other chainers. And seeing as Estark does not an innate imperil on his DR chain it means you are likely going to pair him up with someone who does have an imperil such as Orlandeau currently. Not only does Lighting Storm not perfectly chain with them it also is firstly available at Turn 5. It also doesn't synergyse well with Onion Knight as OK has many different elemental moves. After his enhancements his Onion Slicer+ doesn't even chain with it anymore and Estark has no other chaining moves that work with him either.
    The only real DR partner I see that might take advantage of that is Sephiroth or VotD as you can equip Estark with a dark weapon without sacrificing any imperils but even then it's not an amazing move.


    Side-Notes:
    Estark does not have enhancements in JP
    .
    In GL Estark will always be somewhat useful due to DR chains. He can equip Fireblade Agni or Tonitrus and utilise Hyoh's high imperils. Though Orlandeau can do just the same with a little bit less ATK, so...
    Which leads me to my next point: Estark doesn't really have any niches. His main job are Divine Ruination chains and a lot of units can do just the same. His damage output currently might be better than others but the other 7* options will either be on a very similar level or straight up better while Estark has 0 imperils making him less versatile than the others. So his future doesn't look very great over the course of time due to him being ... simple.


    Best In Slot:
    I'm going for a holy build on this one since his best chain partner right now is Orlandeau. One build with no STMRs, one with. No limited TMRs besides his own one.

    How is the unit as a 6*?
    Serviceable to keep it short

    Estark has innate Dualwield, a 500% Divine Ruination move and decent ATK, so if you only get a single one of him you still get another chain partner in case you don't have anyone for Orlandeau and don't want to enhance your Agrias.
    Other than that he's not very special and in comparison to others pretty mediocre to bad.


    Arena:
    Estark
    has nothing going for him in the Arena. His only AoE move is banned due to having instant death attached to it and that's pretty much it. No innate status ailment resistances, no innate TDH, no W ability, no aoe status ailments, no AoE moves, etc etc.
    Estark is bad in the Arena.

    As I explained earlier, his Lighting Storm doesn't have great synergy with anyone and not even really himself, but I will include its damage though I am not taking it into account when ranking him later on in my rankings and you shouldn't really compare it to others because it isn't really ideal due to requiring external dark imperils the first turns and most support units don't even have one / the ones who have it won't really fit into many teams as well as taking 5 turns.
    Assuming 100% ATK buff
    ATK post buff: 1821 LH | 1826 RH
    Assuming 50% external imperil
    Assuming spark chains

    Average Chain Modifier: 3.21

    Turn X: [ 1821^2 x 6.8 x 3.21 + 1826^2 x 6.8 x 4 ] x 1.5 = 244,612,275
    -> 4% higher than Orlandeau ( 234,353,751 )
    -> 7% lower than Lightning ( 261,137,574 )
    -> 14% lower than Squall ( 282,433,060 )
    -> 16% lower than Shadow Lord ( 289,544,357 )
    -> 30% lower than Adam Jensen ( 345,728,425 )
    -> 34% lower than Nalu ( 365,676,755 )

    Turn 5: 1821^2 x 10 x 3.53 x 1.5 + 1826^2 x 10 x 4 x 2 = 442,326,450 (Lighting Storm)
    Pretty mediocre. His burst damage on his CD ability isn't even really high compared to others. Shadow Lord hits his burst at the exact same turn with no external setup and is about twice as high.


    Trust Master Reward:
    Estark's
    TMR is probably the best thing about him: 60% ATK with a sword and 2 auto LB. That's it, no second condition. This is great for any DW user especially once we hit the 400% stat cap, great for players who will use Brotherhood on Tidus instead of FD and the same goes for Randi users who won't use FD. The 2 auto LB also helps some units who want to use theirs such as Tidus or possibly Onion Knight.


    Super Trust Master Reward:
    Hey... another sword STMR. Yey.
    Hell Sabre is basically an upgrade from Omega Sword. Same ATK value but grants an ability that has the same frames as Onion Slicer (again), has a low modifier of 280% and imperils dark by 50%. Though it is on a limited unit so generally this STMR is a lot harder to obtain than Lightning's while the additional ability probably won't impact your game much?
    If you somehow get 4 estarks you will get a strong sword, but it isn't worth going for specifically.


    Conclusion:
    Estark is mediocre
    .
    He has a few tools that make him currently decent such as having a 60% ATK break as a chainer as well as an AoE Dispel that might come in handy. With innate DW, TDW and a strong Divine Ruination chaining move he has potential for many Orlandeau users. However he is missing something as a DR chainer which are innate imperils. Most DR chainers differ from each other for having different imperils available and he has none, so he needs the other ones.
    In the future there will be way stronger DR chainers while breakers will become a lot better than they are now making Estark a lot worse, a lot less unique and his simple kit combined with powercreep will slowly make him into a DR frame slave if you really need him. And there are and will be way better ones at that.
    His Trust Master is really good and if you are planning to use any sword user this is a nice chance to get something like this as it also comes with raid moogles so you don't even have to TM farm it up.
    Generally Estark due to his frames will always be somewhat serviceable but in comparison to others seriously lacks that certain uniqueness as well as damage output. I wouldn't recommend going for Estark unless you want that sweet TMR.

    his TMR is actually one of the best in the game if one uses a sword.

    No Light armor/Sword, Helmet/Spear, Heavy Armor/Greatsword requirement for 60% - just a sword and +2 LB/turn.

    If a unit can use a sword IMO it's > virtually anything else out there, especially with units using a DH setup only wielding one weapon.

    Pulled one of him today on my half off summon. Might moogle his TMR, but since I have raegen and vod and lando I don't really see him stepping in unless you're seeing something I'm not @Memel0rd

    I've run a bunch of numbers with... 5-6 other rotations with everything from non STMR to full blown STMR setups.

    About all I can say is you will need a dupe estark(Yours or a friends) both having STMR in order to get about a 15% damage boost above oldmandu.

    Meme's #s agree with what I had - VERY similar #s with same gear trim.

    I'd just take the TMR and run.

    decided to pull after reading your comment and what do you know, I did two tickets right and a rainbow dropped and it's Estark!! Tidus is gonna love this new TMR HAHAHAHA
    after 25 ticket of blues this morning this happened and changed everything.
