    Pros:
    Again, a unit where we will have a biiiiig Pros section. Let's do this.

    ExAileen's (Explorer Aileen) base stats combined with the passives are great. Very high ATK and HP, decent DEF/SPR while her stat passives can grant massive boosts. Firstly she has innate 100% TDH and 30% ATK. Once you equip a bow/gun/throwing weapon you get a 30% ATK/SPR boost and with daggers, swords, spears, fists and axes a 30% ATK/DEF boost. So with a Dualwield build you can get a total of 90% ATK with most likely 60% DEF on top of it. But it doesn't stop here. For each hat and clothes, you also gain an additional 15% HP/DEF so you can possibly achieve a very tanky build. 90% ATK, 90% DEF and 50% HP, haven't seen a DPS with such defensive stats in a longer time. Also she has 5% MP refresh and 3 50% killers.

    While her equipment selection, as you might have already witnessed, is fantastic. Every weapon in the game and 8 weapon passives, you can go with a future Killer Bow +, Fixed Dice, regular Dual Wield builds in many variations etc.

    We already saw that ExAileen can become suuuper bulky. And I'm still impressed. Though she also has 10% innate physical evasion and several counters. ExAileen has a 30% phys chance to counter with regular attacks or to counter with a self 25 MP restore OR to counter with a self LB fill (8-10) and 2 100% phys dodges. Pretty good stuff, but it gets really interesting once we include one of her active abilities.
    Acrobatic Maneuvering makes for insane counters. ExAileen now gains a 40% phys counter chance for 5 turns to counter with a 300% modifier! (Also increasing her LB by 6-8 on the same turn). We will have a closer look at this in the Side-Notes.

    Versatility shows through in her next abilities as we look at Analyze Weakness and Underhanded Trick. The initial effects aren't really important, one has a Libra effect the other has slight damage portion added to it (which might be useful with DW against break resistances).
    However, Analyze Weakness has a ST 50% DEF/SPR break and most importantly Underhanded Trick has a ST 50% ATK/MAG break. Which is a very strong break in the current meta and reduces the incoming damage (if applied) by 76%! Not bad at all.

    TNT is a nice way to listen to AC/DC and deal ok-ish AoE fire damage. Handy for story events, especially with her Treasure Hunter passive that grants 50% higher common item drops and doubles the gil. Which is very neat to have on a damage dealing unit, I often benched Xon in the last stages because he became almost useless, so I'd take ExAileen a lot more often with me.

    Getting closer to the end of her kit, we get to her move that most have been looking forward to: Piledriver Finish. And yes, it can perfectly chain with the regular Aileen's Piledriver +2! So yey for that, finally you won't have to hope for Camille in the future.
    While we're at it, it has a 440% effective modifier and also increases her LB gauge by 14-18, which is great because....

    Her Limit Burst takes 50 crysts. Now that sounds like a lot and it is, but her own kit makes it able to easily get to her Limit Burst, so do not worry about that. A four turn rotation regarding the Limit Burst is easily doable.
    Her Limit Burst at max is a 4-Hit 1700% modifier, which is huge! And also granting Killer Blow afterwards for a turn, which is an effective 1050% finisher modifier and also grants her 100% lb fillrate to herself. Pretty nice.


    Cons:
    Well, ExAileen comes with a good amount of cons.

    ExAileen has innate 100% TDH, which is great. And she can equip several two handed weapons, especially fixed dice. But her kit does not embrace True Doublehand at all. She cannot imbue any elements onto her attacks and besides TNT, she also doesn't have moves with innate element. Which basically resembles Cloud's issue upon release and having a big drop in damage.

    Let's keep looking at the elements. Do you notice something?
    ExAileen has no element imperils in her kit. Which is another bummer because this basically means in almost any case, you will only chain with Aileen for most of the time as she brings a 75% earth imperil and also perfect chains. However, you'll either DW chain or use Artisan with Doublehand on her.

    Generally trying to fill both roles as finisher and chainer doesn't work out the way ExAileen probably wants to. Her Limit Burst for instance is veeeery long. Only DW chainers like Onion Knight or Dualcasting Tornado will be able to fully finish this Limit Burst. Some say Orlandeau can also fully chain cap it with Dualwield. Your rotation will most likely include her Piledriver Finish, as it breaks almost no chains unless you have 9 or 10 frame chains and even then you'd have to be a bit unlucky. Regarding that, Piledriver Finish isn't a strong finisher, her LB is very long. This can lead to some issues in her performance.

    On the other hand however, her chain damage is quite low. With no dual ability, no innate element or imbues, a 440% modifier already looks a lot less appealing. And as you will see later on, it isn't all that appealing damage wise. It's basically meant to be used with Aileen in 10 man trials because if you use two ExAileens you won't achieve too much damage. But we'll look at that later on a bit more.

    Something worth mentioning is that ExAileen does not have innate status ailment protection, making it generally more complicated to gear her against fights like Echidna in case you do plan to do that. If you use her with Doublehand, you might also lose a good amount of ATK on top of that.


    Side-Notes:
    Now, as I mentioned before, her counters. They can deal a lot of damage and I meant it. If people request it, I can send them the maths, but there will be a lot of maths up ahead and I don't want to spam them in every section.
    Basically if you compare ExAileen with 100% evasion and the synergy with Illusionist Nichol to our enhanced Demon Rain, she deals only slightly less damage if Demon Rain also uses a 100% evasion build. But ExAileen counters a lot with very big damage and still has some utility to share.
    For instance her 50% DEF/SPR break and ATK/MAG break. The best thing about this one is that her Acrobatic Maneauvering lasts 5 turns, so you have a lot of time to use different aspects of her kit. Or you use her Limit Burst in between, which should lead to decent finisher damage.


    Best In Slot:
    Now, I'll include four different builds. The evasion build I was referring to above, a Dualwield build with Artisan, a DH build with Artisan and a TDH build with Fixed Dice. The Artisan builds are for chaining, the Fixed Dice for finishers.

    isn't outstanding in the Arena. She only has an AoE fire move and nothing else that contributes in the Arena. No status ailment protection / infliction, no AoE death or stop. No AoE chains. I don't recommend using her in here.




    Explorer Aileen [​IMG] Damage

    Let's have a look at her different chains and her finisher with the builds I used in the previous section and how she compares to others.
    100% ATK Buff
    Not assuming spark chains
    Assuming 75% Earth Imperil

    ATK post buff:
    1237 Left Hand | 1247 Right Hand

    1237^2 x 4.4 x 2.82 x 1.75 + 1247^2 x 4.4 x 4 x 1.75 = 81,120,367 (Piledriver Finish)

    Explorer Aileen deals ~5% less damage than enhanced Orlandeau (slightly off)
    -> ~13% less than enhanced Aileen (93,671,562)
    -> ~22% less than A2/Tidus (104,004,370 for Tidus, A2 varies)
    100% ATK Buff
    Not assuming spark chains
    Assuming 75% Earth Imperil

    ATK post buff:
    1886

    1886^2 x 4.4 x 2.82 x 1.75 = 77,236,611 (Piledriver Finish)

    Explorer Aileen deals ~5% less damage than her DW build.
    However, if you use Fixed Dice with Aileen and DH Artisan for Explorer Aileen, the damage will be slightly higher, but not really worth it. (-3,296,408 difference)

    Turn 1: 1312^2 x 3.85 x 4.4 x 4 = 116,638,269 (Piledriver Finish)
    Turn 2: 1312^2 x 3.85 x 4.4 x 4 = 116,638,269 (Piledriver Finish)
    Turn 3: 1312^2 x 3.85 x 17 x 4 = 450,647,859 (Limit Burst)
    Turn 4: 1312^2 x 3.85 x 10.5 x 4 = 278,341,325 (Killer Blow)

    AVG damage per rotation:
    240,566,431

    Explorer Aileen deals ~22% less damage than Ang with a 3 turn LB rotation (305,007,218)
    -> ~5% less than enhanced Cupid Artemios (252,972,720)
    -> ~31% more damage than Nyx (183,277,852)


    Trust Master Reward:
    This TMR is just plain stupid. 50% TDH on a materia as a standalone would be great to pull for in the current meta as most TDH FD users due to the stack limitation on Cloud's TMR can't reach 300% TDH. With this, they can reach 250% TDH which is a great increase in ATK for them. Unless you use units with innate 100% TDH, this will always be worth it only for the ATK. But it also adds more Auto LB and HP and higher counter chances. This TMR is just great and if you get ExAileen, instantly grab this one. It's just great in every way, BiS for many and adds more than just ATK.


    Conclusion:
    ExAileen isn't too bad
    .
    Her chain damage is pretty low in the current meta, slightly below enhanced Orlandeau. Paired up with Aileen you can rock both Dualwield for them or TDH/DH builds on both of them and achieve very similar damage, which is very appealing for a lot of players as many dislike True Doublehand. And it also opens up a pretty strong chain partner for Aileen in 10 man trials. But for chain damage, there are many way better options and we will get Tidus' enhancements soon and he deals more than double her damage.
    Outside of that, ExAileen's utility with her useful breaks might just be useful to you. Sadly they are not AoE, but that'd be way too good.
    And as a finisher, she's slightly worse than enhanced Cupid Artemios which is decent. Especially her Limit Burst turn has a lot of damage if you can fully finish it. But again, she's not the best in this category.
    Regarding the AoE evasion tank with Illusionist Nichol, I'd still use Demon Rain over her because his damage is indeed higher and if you use a regular tank set with him and just pump a lot of ATK into him, he has way higher numbers. However, he doesn't bring much utility and doesn't do much on the off turns, which ExAileen can! And her Limit Burst will still deal a lot of damage.
    Overall it seems that ExAileen tries to be everything. A chainer, a finisher and both with Dualwield and True Doublehand while mastering none of these. However, almost every Aileen user should go for her due to the 10 man options ExAileen opens up.
    Besides that, she might be a good unit for explorations, story events and raids.
    And most importantly: her TMR is absolutely busted and this alone should make most people pull.
    TL;DR not meta, but decent with an op TMR.

    A quick opinion on this:

    For Casuals and Collector Players(Aka: Waifu Hunters)
    Nice Unit, many fun builds and skill to do, worth the pull if you are casuals and like the collect all characters, will help you much in any content.

    She comes with a good weapon on the same event, and a nice TM that will help you much.

    NOW......

    For Hardcore Players (Yes you know who you are!)
    This may not be a good investment, if you really need the TM go ahead, if you are well stocked with strong characters and strong equipment, don't bother much.

    Numbers look solid, but are not the best, and i know your Kind, you are exigent with your numbers, so stay away.

    With her and Nal's TMR (future BE unit, +25% ATK & (+25% Accuracy) +50% Equipped ATK when 2-Handing), we can pretty much make anyone reach +300% doublehand cap.
    Question is, are we really willing to use those 2 ability slots to make some unit 300% TDH in 7 star META?

    Verun TMR makes her ATK drop massively and I mathed it out with Cloud back in the day. With Verun TMR you need a 100% imperil to compensate it iirc

    I'm still pulling for her personally. Yeah, she's not meta, but she's not bad either. Having Aileen, 3 Fryevias and 3 Tidus units, I think I'll be just fine with trying to get her if I can. =3

    More seriously, this is pretty much what I expected to see, with some math and depth added ofc. Nice review.
    I still think she is the chainer to use in story events for example, as having a full team with drop rates up is great. I can already see a Chow, Xon, P.Jake, E.Aileen x2 and let's say.... Lara team ? This should be able to take down pretty much anything, and having a decent drop rate boost. My, my.

    @Memel0rd So basically we have a Noctis of damage lol good at each, master of none lol. I like her kit, as I dont have Aileen (edit I just got Aileen, lol) and Im gonna pull for her for that TMR, it is a counter tank materia. Now next Halloween I need to pull hard for Demon Rain, lol.
