So, this discussion has been bothering me for quite some time. It's the general discussion that some of you (when I say you, I mean everyone in general not just forums) have come to this conclusion that if you do not farm TMs then you cannot progress any further in the game with the newer trials, and events. I'm here to say why that's never the case to begin with. Note: I am not telling anyone not to TM farm, if you choose to TM farm then feel free. I'm just gonna tell why it's not a necessity as many people have made it out to be. I'm gonna tell you that you don't need TMs to beat anything in the game right now, not ever. The main thing that you need is a little strategic thought pattern as how the fights work. We fortunately in Global, can find out the bosses AI before it even comes to our servers unless it's a whole exclusive event where it's practically anybody guess as to what the boss AI will be. All you really need is units, and mostly event items. While they are not as high as TMs they still act as passable items, and materia to make your units pass on. As the game grows older, units that once worked in certain areas lose their niche over newer units that have a higher niche. The only thing you can do is work with what you have. You don't have to have the best units in the game to beat anything. Just use what you must to win really. Even now as we are in the 6* meta just about you can still very well get away with clearing everything provided you have the right tools for the content ahead. You as the player, just have to make strives to keep yourself going. In the end, you don't need to have any TMs to win against anything. I speak from experience from playing the JP version, I cleared mostly all the trials without a single unit who has a TM. It's harder yeah, but this is a Final Fantasy Game. There's supposed to be challenge. So, listen everyone. It's not a necessity to go for TMs if you don't have the patience to grind it out, or what not. Then don't, just make do with what you got.
